Avadh Ojha, a UPSC coaching teacher, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on December 2.
In the above backdrop, an image of him has gone viral on social media, in which he is seen visiting a Muslim shrine with his family. The image is being shared with a caption claiming that Ojha went to the shine after he joined the AAP.
A social media user shared the image with a caption that reads, “Ojha became secular and liberal. Welcome to the party of Natwar (Arvind Kejriwal).”
SouthCheck found that the claim was false. The viral image is old, and it shows Avadh Ojha visiting a Muslim shrine in May, much before joining AAP.
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same image was uploaded by Avadh Ojha on his Facebook page. The post was shared on March 11, 2024, which was before he joined the AAP.
While we were not able to find more details about the picture, we could confirm that the viral image of him visiting a shrine was long before he joined the AAP.
Hence, we conclude that the viral claim is false.
