Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tianjin, China, between August 31 to September 1, for the SCO Summit.

It was his first trip there in seven years. He met Xi Jinping and agreed on better border management, resumed direct flights, reopened the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra and emphasised mutual trust, trade balance and strategic autonomy.

A video is being widely shared on social media in which PM Modi is seen waving to a crowd while he is in a black car. People are also seen cheerfully shouting.

A Hindi audio in the video, which, when translated into English, means, “You are the first star of the morning. There is one slogan for change. This darkness is for some time, and then everything is yours.”

The video also has a text embedded in it that reads, “When people in China are also raising flags of PM Modi, then think of his popularity.”

The video was shared with a caption that reads, “This is called power. BJP flags started flying in China also.” (Translated from Hindi)

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The video shows PM Modi’s rally in Ahmedabad in August.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by the official YouTube channel of PM Modi on August 25.

The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a vibrant road show in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The PM was welcomed by the citizens in large numbers.”

We further found that the same video was shared by ANI on August 25.

The report was shared with a caption that reads, “#Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Ahmedabad. PM Modi inaugurated, laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth Rs 5,400 crores at Khodaldham ground, Ahmedabad, today."

We closely observed the video and found that the building in the background had text mentioned as Mango Plus Cinemas.

We searched for Mango Plus Cinemas and found that it is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

We geolocated the area on Google Maps and then compared the building seen on Google Maps with the one seen in the viral video and found them to be the same. We can see the text written in red on the top-left side of the building. Moreover, the name of the mall above Fortune is written in grey.

Therefore, we conclude that the claim is false.
