: A video has gone viral in which Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh can be seen praising the police and government of Uttar Pradesh in Punjabi. Many social media users are sharing the post, claiming that Diljit was appreciating the UP administration over their arrangements in Maha Kumbh Mela-2025.
A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “What happened to Diljit? Now he’s praising CM Yogi ji for Mahakumbh arrangements. (sic)”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The video is old and it shows Diljit Dosanjh praising the UP government and police after the Lucknow Dil-Luminati Tour.
On a Google reverse image search, we found the same video was uploaded by a Threads user on February 11, 2025. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Diljit Dosanjh thanked Ludhiana’s administration along with UP’s admin. For best arrangements for his Dilluminati India tour 2024.”
We found a longer version of the same video uploaded on the Instagram account of Diljit Dosanjh on February 5, 2025. In the video, at around the 18:00-minute mark, he can be seen showing his gratitude to everyone for supporting him during his India tour.
At the 18:09-minute mark, Dosanjh reads a comment which reads, “Lucknow is pending.” He then reads some of the comments and while replying he said that he had already performed in Lucknow.
In the same video, at around the 18:28-minute timestamp, he thanked the government. He said, “I want to say a special thanks to the UP government for their special arrangements.” Again, at around 18:46 to 19:00 timestamp, he appreciates the arrangements which were made during his tour to Lucknow and Ludhiana. However, Ludhiana is not mentioned in the viral video.
We further found that Diljit performed in Lucknow on December 22, 2024, during his Dil-Luminati India Tour. He thanked the Uttar Pradesh government for maintaining the best arrangements.
Therefore, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
