Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, an image of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, and Israeli President Isaac Bougie Herzog has gone viral on social media.

The image is shared with a caption claiming that the UAE has offered military aid to Israel.

A social media user shared the image with a caption that reads, “Eight UAE planes, carrying military aid and equipment for the Israeli army, have landed at airports in Israel over the past few days. @MohamedBinZayed, SHAME ON YOU.”

Fact check

South Check found the claim to be fake. 

On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found that a website published the same image on May 17, 2022. The caption of the image read, “The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, in a meeting with the then Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, January 2022.” 

The Jerusalem Post had also uploaded the image on May 30, 2022. The story associated with the image read, "Israel is set to finalize its free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates in Dubai on Tuesday, marking the first time it has come to such a wide-ranging economic arrangement with an Arab state."

Another report by The Jerusalem Post, published on April 29, 2022, suggested that eight C-17 Globemaster heavy transport aircraft from the United Arab Emirates Air Force have touched down in Israel.

Moreover, a report by Reuters suggests that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) condemned Israeli ground operations in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
