US President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement in 2025 sharpens focus on detentions, deportations and border security, expanding expedited removals and cooperation with local police.

His administration has widened travel bans, pushed mass deportations and tougher penalties for undocumented presence, while critics argue these moves weaken due process and civil-rights protections.

In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which some people are seen crossing a wall.

The video is shared with a caption suggesting that after US President Donald Trump started enforcing the immigration laws, many people have started leaving the United States and the viral video depicts this scenario.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “BREAKING: Illegal immigrants say they are leaving the United States now that President Trump is enforcing the law. What’s your reaction?”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is old and shows immigrants entering the US.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by an X account on December 20, 2023. The caption reads, “AZ: Border Patrol agents tell a group of roughly 300 migrants to start walking to the first camp as transport is hard to get out to this spot at the wall in Lukeville—They take off in a mad dash—And I’m in the middle of it all. The Tucson Sector, which is where we are, had nearly 3k migrant encounters yesterday according to CBP sources.”

We further found that Daily Mail UK had also shared the same video on December 20, 2023.

The report associated with the video suggests that migrants walked toward a US processing centre near the Arizona-Mexico border to surrender to authorities amid a sustained surge of arrivals. Many are seeking asylum or legal entry, overwhelming Border Patrol facilities and highlighting record crossings in the Tucson sector. Push factors include instability and restrictive policies, while authorities work to manage long waits and limited capacity.

The incident was also reported by CBS News on December 8, 2023.

The report suggests that hundreds of migrants from around the world are trekking through the harsh Arizona desert to reach the US-Mexico border, creating a humanitarian strain as overwhelmed Border Patrol agents process them. Remote crossings have surged, facilities are stretched thin and some ports, like Lukeville temporarily closed due to high arrival numbers and limited capacity.

Although we couldn’t determine the exact location of the video, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
