The current US-Israel-Iran conflict is under a fragile April ceasefire, repeatedly extended but frequently violated. While fighting has reduced, tensions remain high as peace talks stall and regional clashes continue.

In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which a massive fiery explosion can be seen covering the night sky. Those sharing the video claim it shows Iran launching a Khorramshahr missile toward Israel.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “BREAKING: Israel reportedly experienced a Khorramshahr missile strike just minutes ago — a moment that won’t be forgotten! #iranisraelconflict #iranisraelwar.”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video shows Israeli shelling in Southern Lebanon in October 2025.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by the YouTube channel News9 Live on October 4, 2024. The title read, ‘Israel Hezbollah War: Explosions Seen Near Beirut's Airport Minutes After Plane Lands | News9’.

The video is shared with a caption that reads, “In Beirut, Lebanon, a series of massive explosions were reported near the airport shortly after a plane landed early Friday, October 4, 2024. Live video from Reuters captured the sky illuminated by blasts with loud bangs echoing across the area.” In the video, at around 32 seconds, we can see the same scene of the explosion as seen in the viral video.

A screenshot from the viral video was also shared by The Tribune Express on October 17, 2025. The report associated with the image reads, “Israeli forces carried out around 12 airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, killing one person and injuring at least seven, Lebanese authorities said. The attacks hit multiple towns, including Sidon, Nabatieh and Baalbek, causing panic and large explosions. Israel claimed it targeted Hezbollah weapons infrastructure, while Lebanon’s president accused it of damaging civilian infrastructure and undermining economic recovery.”

We compared the viral video with the screenshot shared by The Tribune Express and found them to be the same. We can see the same silhouettes of the buildings and also the pattern of the smoke arising from the blast is also same.Using this information, we searched with relevant keywords and found that the incident was also reported by Al Jazeera on October 20, 2025.

According to the report, an Israeli drone strike in Southern Lebanon killed two people after hitting a car, setting it on fire. The attack followed earlier air raids and was described as part of near-daily violations of a US-brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah. Israel said it targeted militant sites, but offered no evidence, as tensions continued despite the truce.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
