The 2026 Israel–Iran war is ongoing, with continued missile and drone exchanges across the Middle East. Israel and the United States have carried out repeated airstrikes on Iranian military infrastructure, while Iran has launched retaliatory attacks on Israel, US bases, and Gulf countries.

The conflict has expanded regionally with involvement from groups like Hezbollah and has disrupted oil shipping near the Strait of Hormuz, raising global economic and security concerns.

In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which a street is seen on fire. A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Israel has been hit hard by Iran.”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. We found that the viral video is of 2025 and is from Philadelphia, US.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by a YouTube channel on February 1, 2025. The video is shared with a caption that reads, “A small aircraft has crashed in Philadelphia, and new details are emerging about what happened. Authorities are investigating the cause, and we have the latest updates on the situation. Was it mechanical failure, pilot error, or something else? Stay tuned as we break down everything we know so far about this tragic incident.”

Using this information, we searched with relevant keywords and found that the same video was shared by NPR on February 2, 2025. The report suggested that a medical jet was heading to Missouri from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport when it crashed near Roosevelt Mall.

We further geolocated the mall and found that the spot seen in the viral video is in Philadelphia, US.

We also saw Dunkin' Donuts on the map, which is seen in the beginning of the video shared by the YouTube channel

The incident was also reported by Eyewitness News on February 2, 2025.

The report stated that the medical transport jet crashed shortly after take-off in Northeast Philadelphia, killing seven people, including a young patient and her mother. The plane went down less than a minute after departure, causing a fiery explosion that damaged homes and vehicles. All six people on board died, along with one person on the ground, while several others were injured.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is from the US and not Israel.
