Hyderabad: Congress leader and United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Priyanka Gandhi concluded her public campaign with a roadshow on Monday ahead of the by-elections in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Voting commenced in Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday.

In this context, a video of a political rally featuring Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi has gone viral. Those sharing the video claim that some people at the rally were carrying Pakistan's flags. According to the graphic text on the video, the rally occurred on November 11, 2024, in Wayanad.

An X user shared the video and wrote, “Pakistani flags visible at Rahul and Priyanka’s election campaign in Wayanad. Video goes viral.” (Translated from Hindi)

Factcheck

South Check found that the claim is false. The flags in the video belong to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a member of the United Democratic Front, led by the Indian National Congress.

With the help of a keyword search we found an extended version of the video streamed live by the Congress’s YouTube channel on November 11. The video was titled ‘LIVE: Road Show | Shri Rahul Gandhi, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi | Sulthan Bathery.’ Sultan Bathery is a town in Wayanad.

The video clip posted on social media can be seen at the 9-minute mark of the YouTube video above. We compared the green flag’s seen in this video to the design of Pakistan’s national flag and found them different from each other.

Here’s a comparison of both flags.

Indian Union Muslim League's party flag does not have the white vertical stripe that can be seen on the Pakistan National Flag.

Also we couldn’t find any credible reports on Pakistan flags raised at Priyanka’s rally.

Hence, we conclude that the video does not show Pakistan’s national flag at the Congress roadshow in Wayanad.
