On January 30, the US Department of Justice publicly released a massive batch of the Epstein files, over 3 million pages of court and investigative records tied to financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
They include flight logs, emails, photos, witness statements and contact lists showing his network, though redactions and inclusion of names don’t imply wrongdoing.
In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which a young child is seen sitting with Jeffrey Epstein and his convicted associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Social media user shared the video with a caption suggesting that this video is from the Epstein Files.

SouthCheck found the claim to be false. We found that the viral video is AI-generated.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found a similar photo was shared by The Financial Times on December 20, 2025. The image was shared in a report with the title "US justice department releases cache of Epstein files." The caption associated with the image read, "Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell (Image supplied by the DoJ)."
The same image was also shared by Axios on February 9, 2026, with the caption that reads, “Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein are seen outside No 10 Downing Street. Photo: The US Justice Department / Handout /Anadolu via Getty Images.”
However, none of these pictures had a young girl in them.
When we closely observed the video, we saw the slow movement of the figures, the sudden appearance of a girl next to Ghislaine Maxwell, and Epstein’s hand emerging unnaturally from a bag on the table. All of which suggested that the viral video is AI-generated.
We further checked the video with the AI-detection tool Hive moderation and found it to be 99% AI-generated.
