
Maha Kumbha Mela, the massive religious congregation that began on January 13 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, ended on February 26.
In the above context, a video of Sandalwood (Kannada films) superstar Naveen Kumar Gowda aka Yash and his family allegedly visiting some ghats decorated with religious flags has gone viral. Those sharing the video claim that it shows Yash at the Maha Kumbh Mela.
A social media user shared the video and wrote, “Yash reaches Maha Kumbh with family. Not only the general public but celebrities from the South too are visiting Maha Kumbh. Keep howling now.” (Translated from Hindi)
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video showed him visiting Mumbai after his shoot for his movie Toxic.
On a Google reverse image search, we found the same video uploaded by an X user on November 26, 2024. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Rocking Yash Spotted With His Family in Mumbai after Toxic Movie Shoot”
The same video was uploaded by an Instagram page on November 28, 2024. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “KGF superstar Yash was seen protecting his wife and children in a huge crowd with his son in his lap.”
Further, India Today also published a report on November 26, 2024, with a screenshot of the viral video. The report stated that Yash was seen with his wife, Radhika Pandit, and their children in Mumbai while he was on his shoot for his movie Toxic.
The report also embedded the link to the same video shared by Viral Bhayani’s Instagram page. We also found no reports of Yash visiting Maha Kumbh Mela.
Therefore, we conclude that the viral claim is false.
