A video of two groups of men assaulting each other with sticks has gone viral. Those sharing the video claim it shows Muslim men beating Hindus in Sambhal.
A social media user shared the video and wrote, “Peace ambassadors attacked the bus carrying Maa Purnagiri in Sambhal. The bus had stopped for food and drinks in which bhajans were being played. The jihadis, adamant on stopping the bhajans, beat the devotees.” (Translated from Hindi)
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The clash in the video has no communal angle to it.
On a reverse image search, we found that the same video was uploaded on an X account on March 22, 2025, with the same claim. In the comments, Sambhal police refuted the viral claim.
They said that the clash between the two groups was over the purchase of fruits. The reply read, “There was a fight between two parties while buying fruits, both the parties belong to the same community (Hindu). The local police has taken preventive action against six persons from both parties, and further legal action is underway.”
