A video is being widely shared on social media in which a man is purportedly seen kidnapping a woman. He is forced to sit inside the car while others are seen rescuing her.

The video is shared with a caption suggesting that the video is from Pakistan, where a Hindu bride was kidnapped by Muslims.

The text embedded in the video reads, “Muslims are kidnapping the bride and taking her away; friends, watch this video. Watch this to see if Hindus are so safe in Pakistan.”

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Look at the plight of minority Hindus in Pakistan, a Muslim-majority country! Religious people are dragging away the bride!”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is scripted.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by an X account on February 6.

The video was shared with a caption suggesting that it was a scripted video for Pakistan’s Rauf TV channel. The caption also suggested that the video was intended to be a comedy video. The caption, when translated into English, read, “This video is being used to spread the lie that a Hindu bride was abducted in Pakistan. In reality, this is a comedy video made in November by the Rauf TV channel. See how people on social media keep trying to pit the two communities against each other.”

Taking a hint, we searched and found that a larger version of the same video was shared by Rauf TV on its Instagram page on December 7.

The text embedded in the video reads, “Daily Girl kidnapping, Dangerous Drama Scene.” The hashtags read, #story #short #sad #emotional #family #drama #clip #movie #new #shortstory #familystory #love #viral #reelsfb. All of which suggests the video is scripted.

Moreover, in the end, a disclaimer also comes that reads, “Disclaimer: This film and its characters are fictional.” Also, scrolling through the social media page, Rauf TV, we can see multiple similar short clips.

We have also tried contacting Rauf TV for more details, and the content will be updated once we receive their reply.

Therefore, the claim is false.
