Fact check

SouthCheck found the claim to be misleading. The video is from Pakistan’s Sindh province, not India.

On doing a Google reverse image search with the keyframes from the viral video, we found a screenshot from it shared by Pakistani news website Jang, with a title suggesting that the girl was raped in Tando Muhammad Khan in Pakistan’s Sindh. The report was published on June 8, 2019.

As per the article, the minor was found in a subconscious state on the ground of a local sugar mill. Quoting the Sindh police the report said, “A case was registered against Roshan Sheikh and Rajab, who were arrested for further investigation.”

Another report by The Tribune stated, “Doctors in Tando Muhammad Khan claimed that a 12-year-old Hindu girl, who was found in an unconscious state from a local ground, was allegedly raped on the third day of Eidul Fitr.”

Both Siasat  and Geo News also reported about the incident in June 2019.

On October 21, 2019, a journalist from Pakistan, Ghulam Abbas Shah, who works  with BOL Network, also posted a screenshot from the same video and said the accused in the case was is convicted for 10 years of imprisonment by the Additional Sessions court in Tando Muhammad Khan.

Hence, we can ascertain that the video is of an old incident from Pakistan.
