A video is being widely shared on social media in which actor-turned-politician and TVK president Vijay is seen walking through a large crowd and falling near the door of his car.

The video is shared with a caption suggesting that a mob of Hindus was beating Vijay, a Christian, who took a ‘stand against Hindus’.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Tamil film star Thalapathy Vijay beaten up. Look at his condition, he is a Christian and anti-Hindu.” (Translated from Hindi)

Fact Check

Southcheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is of Vijay tripping and falling while walking among a crowd of fans at the Chennai airport.

On taking a closer look at the video, we can see Vijay struggling to walk through the shouting crowd. The police are pushing back the youths who are trying to get close to the actor. However, no one is seen assaulting him.

Taking a hint from the visuals, we searched with relevant keywords and found that a similar visual was shared by NDTV on December 29, 2025.

The title read, ‘Actor Vijay Slips While Boarding Car Amid Massive Fan Frenzy At Chennai Airport.’ In the video, we can see Vijay coming out of the security and then later tripping near his car. We can see him wearing the same dress as seen in the viral video.

The video of the incident was also shared by a YouTube channel on December 29, 2025.

The video is shared with a caption that reads, “In this breaking news report, TVK leader and actor Vijay slipped and fell while entering his vehicle at the Chennai airport. The incident occurred late last night as the superstar returned from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, following the audio launch of his film ‘Jana Nayagam’. Visuals show Vijay being mobbed by a massive crowd of fans, causing him to lose his footing just moments before reaching his car. Security personnel immediately stepped in to escort him to safety.
