The labour protest in Noida began on April 13, when thousands of factory workers demanded higher wages, better working conditions and fair overtime pay. The agitation quickly escalated, with road blockades, clashes with police, and incidents of violence, including stone-pelting and arson. Authorities deployed heavy security and later announced interim wage hikes, but workers continue to protest, calling the measures insufficient.

In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which people are seen pelting stones at a police vehicle. The video is being shared with a caption suggesting that it shows labourers protesting in Noida.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “This is not Kashmir Manipur #Noida_UP is adjacent to Delhi. For this, family favouritism in the bureaucracy is responsible. There are dozens of districts where officers of the CM’s specific caste have been holding the top postings of DM and SSP for 9 years. Their money-making district changes, but the posting does not change. One reason for the riots and arson in Noida is this too.” (Translated from Hindi)

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is from 2025 and shows a protest in Gorakhpur.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by Inkhabar Official on October 22, 2025.

The video is shared with a caption that reads, “A shocking video has emerged from Gorakhpur, showing a police van being brutally pelted with stones. The video shows police personnel trying to protect themselves inside the van while a mob continues to pelt stones from outside. The van’s front windshield was broken, and the policemen inside were targeted, injuring several.”

We found that the video was also shared by NDTV on October 21, 2025.

The report associated with the video suggests that villagers in Uttar Pradesh attacked a police van, pelting stones and shattering its windows, leaving some personnel injured. The clash broke out during heightened tensions in the area, with visuals capturing the mob’s aggression and damaged vehicle. Police later moved in to control the situation and restore order.

The full video was shared on X by @RampratapR on October 21, 2025, describing unrest in Nausad under Gorakhpur’s Gida police station after Hanuman Chauhan’s death. Police later clarified the incident stemmed from a quarrel on October 4, 2025; the injured man died during treatment. The accused had already been jailed, and three others were detained over the protest.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is false.
