The Maha Kumbh Mela is being held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, between January 13 and February 25.
In the above backdrop, images of Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar and Indian cricketer Shubham Gill have gone viral on social media with a caption claiming that they have visited the religious gathering.
A social media user shared the images with a caption that reads, “Shubham Gill and Sara Tendulkar in Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral images are AI-generated.
On a Google reverse image search and Yandex reverse image search, we were not able to find the images on any credible social media accounts or news reports reporting about their trip to Maha Kumbh Mela. We further found watermark of Grok written on the bottom right corner of the image.
Taking a clue, we checked the images with AI-detection tools.
On checking the image with the Hive Moderation AI detector, the software tagged it as being 98.6 per cent AI-generated.
Therefore, we conclude that all three images are AI-generated. The claim is false.
