Israel and Iran have engaged in eight consecutive days of reciprocal missile strikes since June 12. Israel’s Operation Rising Lion targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites, killing IRGC commanders and nuclear scientists, while Iran’s retaliatory True Promise 3 attacks struck Israeli cities like Haifa and Beersheba, damaging hospitals and civilian infrastructure.

Diplomatic efforts by European powers in Geneva yielded no breakthrough, as Iran demands Israel halt attacks before negotiations resume.

In the above context, a video of a fire in a parking lot is widely being shared on social media.

The video is shared with a caption suggesting that it shows the Mossad headquarter in Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv, on fire amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Tel Aviv (Yafa) this morning! Netanyahu and Israel’s terror fire back with fire. Mossad headquarters after being hit by Iranian missiles.”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. We found that the same video was old and showed fire in a a parking lot for motorcycles in Chongqing, China.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that a similar visual was shared by a YouTube channel, APT on June 12, 2025, with a caption that reads, “A large fire broke out at a motorcycle parking facility in Chongqing, China, on June 11, sending thick black smoke billowing across the sky. Social media footage shows bystanders fleeing and covering their mouths as the fire spread. The blaze was extinguished within 21 minutes, and no casualties were reported, according to the Jiulongpo District Fire and Rescue Bureau. The cause is under investigation."

We compared the viral video with the YouTube video and found them to be similar. We saw the same CCTV camera, traffic signal post and a banner in both videos.

We further found that the video of the incident was also shared by Hindustan Times on June 13. At around 34 seconds, we can see a closer look at the parking lot and find that the scene is similar to that of the viral video. We could see the same CCTV pole opposite to the road and trees around it with a board near the parking lot.

The incident was also reported by Reuters on June 12.

The Chongqing Jiulongpo Fire Department also shared a post about the fire on Weibo on June 11, 2025. The post, when translated into English, read, “At 13:12 on June 11, 2025, the public reported that a fire broke out at a temporary parking spot for motorcycles at No. 8 Yuzhou Road, Yuzhou Road Street, Jiulongpo District. The District Fire Rescue Bureau immediately dispatched rescue personnel to the scene to deal with it. At 13:33 on June 11, 2025, the open fire was extinguished, and there were no casualties at the scene. The specific cause of the fire is under further investigation.”

While there are reports of Israeli buildings in Tel Aviv impacted by Iranian missiles, we can ascertain that the viral video is from China.

Therefore, we conclude that the claim is false.
