A video is being widely shared on social media which shows security personnel restraining a few individuals and carrying out an operation at a railway station.

The video is circulated with a caption suggesting that two terrorists were killed and two others arrested at Kathgodam railway station in Uttarakhand, after which a high alert was declared across the area.

A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “The video shows a terrorist attack on Kathgodam railway station.”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is a mock drill.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by an Instagram user on February 8. The video suggests that it shows a mock drill happening at Kathgodam railway station.

We also found that Dainik Bhaskar had reported on the story three months ago.

The report associated with the video suggests that a large-scale mock drill was held at Kathgodam Railway Station in Uttarakhand to rehearse a response to a simulated terror attack. Security forces, including police, ATS, bomb squad and other agencies, practised cordoning the station, rescuing hostages, neutralising threats, killing and capturing mock ‘terrorists’ to improve coordination in real emergencies.

The incident was also reported by Amar Ujala on December 6, 2025.

Therefore, the claim is false.
