A video is being widely shared in which men armed with sticks are seen entering homes and assaulting people while the sound of people crying for help can be heard.

Those sharing the video claim that it shows Muslim men entering homes with Hindu families and assaulting them in Alwar, Rajasthan.

A social media user shared the video and wrote, “The incident is from Alwar district of Rajasthan where Muslims entered homes of Hindus and beat them with sticks.” (Translated from Hindi) (Archive)

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim was false. The altercation seen in the video is between members of the same family.

On doing a Google reverse image search, we found the same video published by Dainik Bhaskar, nine months ago. The report stated that a 70-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were assaulted by family members in Alwar over a house dispute.Patrika also shared the same video on January 19, 2024, stating that the fight happened due to a property dispute among family members.

We found a tweet by the Alwar police that confirmed that the video is old and both factions involved in the incident are from the Hindu community.
