On October 14, the Houthis fired a ballistic missile toward Riyadh, which Saudi forces intercepted; explosions were heard over the capital. Falling debris injured four people and damaged 15 homes. The group also claimed strikes on Riyadh airport and Aramco facilities, vowing further attacks.
In the above context, a video has gone viral on social media in which one can see a massive fire in an enclosure with several vehicles nearby on the road. In the background, we can hear the sound of vehicles honking and people shouting in distress.
The video is shared with a caption that reads, “Houthi militants attack again at Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia!”
SouthCheck found the claim to be false. We found that the video is of 2025 and shows a fire that broke out in November 2025 at Al-Nasim Park in Riyadh during a Riyadh Season event.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found that the screenshot of the video was shared by a Facebook page, Arab Vines on November 8, 2025, with a caption that reads, "A limited fire broke out this evening in the statues of the Egyptian pyramids, as part of the events of the "Kharis Nights" Festival in Al-Naseem neighborhood in Riyadh, which comes within the famous entertainment season of Riyadh.
The fire broke out in a pyramids-shaped wooden structure for recreational purposes and did not include extensive damage or human casualties, according to Saudi civil defense data, which indicated that it was quickly controlled without any injuries among visitors or workers."
The video was also shared by another Facebook page, Saudi Times, on November 8, 2025, with a caption that reads, "A massive fire broke out Thursday night at Riyadh Season’s Layali Khurais zone in Al-Naseem Park, engulfing a wooden “Saudi Pyramids” replica in flames!"
Since the video predates the viral claim, we can ascertain that it is old.
We further found that the screenshot of the viral video was also shared by an Arabic website on November 7, 2025.
The report associated with the screenshot reads, “A fire broke out Friday at Al-Naseem Park during Riyadh Season, reportedly in Riyadh City Boulevard’s Egypt zone, engulfing a pyramid replica and alarming visitors. Saudi Civil Defence said its teams fully extinguished the blaze with no injuries, adding that emergency teams remained on standby during the event.”
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
