Actor-turned-politician Vijay held the second state conference of his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party in Madurai on August 21. This was his biggest rally yet. Thousands of supporters turned up, making it a huge public display of strength and positioning TVK as a serious contender in Tamil Nadu politics.
In the above context, a photo of a caravan is widely being shared with a caption suggesting that it belongs to Vijay and was photographed during his Madurai conference. Those sharing the video claim Vijay welcomed Trisha with the luxury caravan.
A social media user shared the image with a caption that reads, “At the conference, Vijay-Trisha was welcomed with a super luxurious vehicle costing Rs 100 crores, along with a bedroom to stay. This is the one who is going to wipe away the tears of the poor #ThiruSymbolsConference #52Years_BoomerUncle_Vijay.” (Translated from Tamil)
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same image was shared on a forum run by Team-BHP.
The image was shared on a thread suggesting that the caravan belongs to Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The post spoke about cars of various South Indian movie stars. The viral image was shared with a caption that reads, “Malayalam actor Prithviraj’s Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, Cayenne S diesel and Polo GT!!” The images were published on November 7, 2014.
We further found that a similar image of the van was uploaded by Ojes Automobiles on April 11, 2021. The images were shared with the caption, “#throwback #2012 #2010model Prithvi’s 1st Ojes caravan. (sic)”
A Facebook page called Ojes Automobiles also shared images of a caravan on April 11, 2021. The interiors and exterior shots resembled the caravan in the viral image. The caption stated, “#throwback #2012 #2010model Prithvi's 1st Ojes caravan.”
We also contacted Ojes Automobiles, and they confirmed that the viral image shows Prithviraj’s caravan.
We found that Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the images of his caravan on the Facebook page on February 8, 2012, which are similar to the caravan in the viral image.
