Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim was misleading. The image shows a helicopter crash that happened in Kedarnath in 2018.

On doing a Google reverse image search, we found the same image published by The Times of India on April 3, 2018. The report associated with the image stated that one person was killed and three were injured when a cargo helicopter of an Indian Air Force (IAF) caught fire while landing in Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath.

India TV also published the image on April 3, 2018. The report stated that an Indian Air Force (IAF) MI-17 helicopter caught fire after colliding with an iron girder while landing near Kedarnath temple.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral image is old.
