Amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, which began on February 26, Iran may be preparing a surprise missile and drone attack on Israel even as indirect talks with the United States continue over regional tensions and Tehran’s nuclear programme.
The report said Iranian military preparations had intensified amid fears of renewed conflict. However, diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran were still underway, with both sides publicly signalling interest in avoiding a wider war.
In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media, in which residents are seen recording a fire outside the window of a house.
The video is shared with a caption claiming that it shows Israelis recording the Iranian missile attack by Iran.
A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Thus does the Lord of the Worlds cast terror into the hearts of His enemies.. Watch what the Iranian missiles do through the lens of one of the settlers in Israel! The beautiful thing is that they only target military sites, and all civilians are safe.”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is from 2025 and shows an Israeli attack on Gaza City.
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by a Palestinian Instagram user on August 22, 2025. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “This is just a small part of the explosions that are happening here.”
Since the video predates the Israel-Iran war, we can ascertain that the viral video is old.
We also found that the same video was shared by a YouTube channel, Middle East Eye on September 21, 2025. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “A video taken from inside a building in Gaza shows the sheer intensity of Israel's attacks, with strikes hitting back-to-back in rapid succession. The footage highlights the dangers endured by Palestinians trying to survive in the blockaded enclave.”
We further found that a website, Imago, also shared the viral video with a caption that reads, “Palestine: Family in Gaza captures the intensity of Israeli bombardments Gaza - September 21, 2025. A family documented a series of explosions during the Israeli bombardment, hitting Gaza City in different areas.”
All of the information we gathered confirmed that the viral video is old and from Gaza, not Israel.
