Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim was false since the blast was not a terror attack.

On searching with appropriate keywords, we found the same video was uploaded by a YouTube channel on May 3, 2024. The video was uploaded with a caption that a technical fault in the AC of the showroom of Kalyan Jewellers in Bellary caused a blast, leaving three people injured.

The incident was also reported by News Nine. The report suggested that an air conditioner exploded at a Kalyan jeweller showroom during the gas-refilling process.

Karnataka State Police had also tweeted about the incident and clarified that no bomb blast happened at the store. It was only the AC that exploded due to technical issues. The tweet read, “The cause was an air conditioner gas explosion, and Ballari police have already visited, and an investigation is continuing. Don’t spread rumours and don’t listen to rumours.”

Hence, we can ascertain that the post is shared with a false claim.
