Post-poll violence erupted across West Bengal after the 2026 Assembly results, with clashes between Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party supporters reported in multiple districts.
At least four people were killed, several were injured, and party offices were vandalised. Incidents included arson, lynching, and attacks on workers. Authorities made arrests and increased security deployment, while both parties blamed each other for the unrest.
In the above context, a video is widely being shared on social media, in which a large number of guns lying in the open air and a crowd of people surrounding them can be seen. In the same video, later, the man wearing a saffron turban is seen giving an interview to the news organisation.
The video is shared with a caption suggesting that it shows arms found in a Madrasa. Accusing Mamata Banerjee of doing politics of Muslim appeasement, the text embedded in the video insinuates that the TMC government did not take cognisance of arms found in the Madrasa in West Bengal. The text embedded in the video reads, “Why isn’t the Mullah government saying anything? Watch the weapons exhibition at the madrasa.”
The caption associated with the video reads, “Whose madrasa is this !? ️”
On a Google reverse image search, we found a similar video was shared by Live Hindustan on October 3, 2025. We can see the same set of guns kept on a red sheet. Moreover, we can see the same man (Raghu Raj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya) in both the pictures, suggesting both the video is of the same incident. According to the report, the weapons belonged to Raghu Raj Pratap Singh, the MLA from Kunda assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh and founder and national president of Jansatta Dal (L).
We also saw the video of Raghuraj Pratap Singh giving an interview to the news organisation, wearing the same dress, which was shared by News Nation.
Moreover, a screenshot of the video was also shared by a website, Rajdhani Update, on October 3, 2025. According to the news report, former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur sought a probe into a viral video allegedly showing a large display of weapons during Dussehra celebrations at MLA Raja Bhaiya’s residence in Kunda, Uttar Pradesh. Thakur wrote to the DGP, saying the public display of hundreds of firearms could violate provisions of the Arms Act and Arms Rules, and demanded legal action and a detailed investigation.
The incident was also reported by Aaj Tak on October 3, 2025.
According to the news report, Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya sparked controversy after videos showed over 200 weapons displayed during Dussehra “Shastra Puja” at his Benti Palace in Uttar Pradesh’s Kunda. The display included pistols, rifles, revolvers, and carbines. The controversy intensified after his wife, Bhanvi Singh, alleged he possessed illegal weapons, while Raja Bhaiya’s camp claimed all arms were licensed and part of a traditional ritual.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
