

A video is being widely shared on social media in which a woman is thrown out of a moving vehicle onto the footpath.
The video is shared with a caption suggesting that it shows a victim of sexual assault being thrown out of the car after the crime in the Faridabad district of Haryana.
A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “CCTV footage from Faridabad shows a woman thrown from a moving car after a horrific 3-hour gang rape. While the accused are in custody, this is a grim reminder: women’s safety isn’t guaranteed in Ram Rajya. Rules to live in Ram Rajya: Avoid unverified lifts, Use tracking apps, Share live locations. Every woman deserves to get home safely.”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video is from Brazil.
We found that replying to a social media post, an X user had shared a circular from Faridabad police, which debunked the viral claim. According to the circular, the video was not from Faridabad.
We also found that the same circular was also shared by the official X handle of Faridabad police on April 11.
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by an Instagram page, Cidadenewsmcp, on March 29. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Shocking scenes were captured by security cameras at a commercial establishment on Saturday night, the 28th, on Mato Grosso Street, in the Pacoval neighborhood, in the northern part of Macapá. The images show the moment a woman is thrown from a moving vehicle, under circumstances that are still unclear. According to preliminary information, the car involved in the incident is white with orange details. Immediately after the incident, the vehicle left the scene, raising suspicions about what might have happened inside the car. At this time, there is no official information about the victim’s health status, which increases apprehension among residents of the area, who were shocked by the violence of the scene. Police teams are conducting investigations to try to locate the vehicle and identify the occupants. The Military Police requests the public’s cooperation and reiterates that any information that may help in the investigations should be reported through the number 190. The case remains shrouded in mystery and is being investigated by the competent authorities. “
We further found that the video was also shared by a Brazilian news channel, TV Equinócio, on April 1. The video suggested that it was from Macapa, a city in Brazil.
The incident was also reported by Brazilian news website, Salesnafes.com on March 30.
According to the report associated with the video, a woman was filmed falling from a moving car after an argument with her partner in Macapá. Police say she jumped during the fight, a claim supported by witnesses. The driver, who allegedly encouraged her, was charged with instigating suicide and illegal ammunition possession. She survived but was seriously injured.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
