‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ was released in movie theatres on March 19. The movie became a major box-office hit, even as some sections are criticising it as pro-Hindutva propaganda.
In the above context, a video is being widely shared on social media in which Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is seen arriving at an event in a building while being welcomed. Those sharing the video claim it shows Yogi Adityanath attending a special screening of Dhurandhar 2.
A social media user shared the video and wrote, “Yogi Adityanath watched the special show of Dhurandhar The Revenge! Another Burnol moment for liberals, they got another reason to cry harder.”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The video is from 2023 and shows Yogi Adityanath during an official visit to Mumbai as a part of outreach efforts ahead of Uttar Pradesh’s Global Investors Summit.
The footage shows Yogi Adityanath during an official visit to Mumbai, where he is seen greeting Maharashtra leaders.
A comparison between the viral clip and the 2023 video reveals several identical visual details. Yogi Adityanath and Ravi Kishan are wearing the same outfits in both clips, and the location, including the entry gate and surrounding layout, matches exactly.
Using this information, we searched with relevant keywords and found that ANI had also shared images of the event on its X account on January 4, 2023. The image is shared with a caption that reads, “Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai today.
