SouthCheck found the claim to be fake.

On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found a local journalist had quoted a tweet on one of the videos, with a caption that read, “#FactCheck: Dear @AstroCounselKK, This incident happened in Mangaluru on 1st September, not in Bengaluru... Have posted the statement of Mangalore Police Commissioner on this incident.” He had also shared a press release, which read, “On 01-09-2023 at around 06:50 am, Excise Officials spotted a lady near Ganesh Medicals, Pumpwell, Mangalore displaying some kind of abnormal & aggressive behavior. Suspecting her to be under the influence of narcotic drugs, the officials decided to get her medically examined. However, as they tried to escort her to the hospital, she turned violent against the officials and started resisting. Needing additional assistance, the excise officials brought her to the Mangalore East Police Station in their department vehicle. But even on the station premises, the lady turned more violent & became uncontrollable. Subsequently, with the help of women police staff, she was shifted to the hospital by excise officials in their department vehicle for medical examination. The medical report of the lady came negative concerning the consumption of narcotics. The lady was handed over to her parent's custody. Presently, she is undergoing treatment. The reason for her display of aggressive & offensive behavior against excise officials that day is being investigated by the police. Commissioner of Police Mangalore City.”

Dajiworld had also reported the incident. They quoted the police official, who said, “Officials of the excise department received a message that a young girl is behaving rashly in a medical shop at Pumpwell on September 1. As the officials tried to take her for a narcotic test on the suspicion that she must have consumed drugs, she behaved violently with the personnel. Later, when the girl was taken to hospital with the help of women police personnel for a narcotic test, the result was negative. She was handed over to her parents and is getting medical treatment in a hospital at present. Investigation is continuing on this matter.”

Managluru city police had also posted on social media and clarified that the woman in the video was not a drug addict but mentally ill, and was going through medical treatment for her aggressive behavior.

Thus, we can conclude that the viral video is of Mangalore. The woman in the video was mentally challenged.
