A video is being widely shared on social media in which Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is seen visiting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav at his house.
The video is shared with a caption claiming that Nitish went to meet Lalu recently after he joined the BJP-led NDA in January 2024.
A premium social media user shared the video with the caption: “Political views do not come in the way of personal relationships. Humanity is also a thing. When Lalu Yadav came home after treatment from Singapore Nitish Kumar went to meet him.” (Translated from English)
SouthCheck found that the claim was misleading. The viral video is from 2022 when they were in the same alliance.
On doing a Google reverse image search, we found a screenshot of the video uploaded by a website, Prokerala on September 5, 2022. The video was shared with the caption, “Bihar CM Nitish Kumar meets RJD chief Lalu Yadav along with Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and Rabri Devi, in Patna on Monday, Sept. 05, 2022.”
The same screenshot was also published by NDTV India on September 5, 2022. The report suggested that Nitish Kumar went to meet Lalu Yadav before leaving for Delhi.
