A video is being widely shared on social media in which people wearing military uniforms are seen raising the Indian flag and shouting slogans.

The video was shared by a Facebook user. It had a text on it that reads, “Indian soldiers in Bihar are staging a massive protest against the Modi government, saying, ‘Open your eyes, Modi government, let it fall.’”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video shows Dial 112 drivers demanding better wages and working conditions.

We closely observed the viral video; at around 13 seconds, we can see that the uniform has a badge that reads, “Bihar 112.”

Using this information, we searched with relevant keywords and found a report by a website, Patna Press, published on September 9.

According to the report, on September 9, hundreds of Dial-112 emergency service drivers — mostly ex-servicemen — marched from Gardanibagh to Kargil Chowk holding the Indian Tricolour. They were on strike for nine days, demanding higher pay, better working conditions and recognition as state employees.

A similar report was also published by The Times of India.

We also found no such reports of army personnel protesting against the NDA government in Bihar. Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
