The Iran–Israel war began on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched large-scale airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, allegedly killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran retaliated with missiles and drones targeting Israel, US bases and Gulf countries. The conflict has expanded across the region, disrupted oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and caused heavy civilian casualties while raising fears of a wider Middle East war.

In the above context, a street-level video of the aftermath of buildings and vehicles hit with heavy artillery has gone viral.

Those sharing the video claim it shows the latest condition of Tel Aviv, Israel’s capital, after an Iranian missile attack. A social media user shared the video and wrote, “Tel Aviv #Israel ........hit by an Iranian missile.”

Fact Check

SouthCheck found that the claim is misleading. The video is from 2025, when a 12-day war broke out between Israel and Iran.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by an X account AZ Intel on June 19, 2025. The video was shared with a caption that reads, “WATCH: Damage in Ramat Gan, Israel after Iranian missile attack.”

We also found that the same video was shared by an Instagram account on June 19, 2025.

The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Warning sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on June 19, 2025, following an Iranian missile attack. Public infrastructure was damaged, and residents fled to shelters. This report documents the situation on the ground.”

The dates on these posts suggest that the viral video is old.

We also found that the screenshot of the video was published on the website named Iragroh, an Israel based website in Hebrew. The article was published on June 19, 2025. The caption associated with the image reads, “Footage from the city of Rashmat Gan.”

We further found that the image of the glass building was also shared by Israel National News on June 19, 2025.

The report associated with the image reads. “Footage released by Israeli police shows rescue operations after an Iranian missile strike in Ramat Gan, near the stock exchange area. Several buildings, including a three-story residential structure and nearby offices, were heavily damaged. Emergency teams searched apartments and evacuated residents trapped inside. Authorities reported 37 people injured, mostly with minor wounds.”

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is of an Israeli missile hitting Ramat Gan in 2025.

The viral claim is misleading.
