A video is being widely shared on social media in which a man in a burqa is seen in police custody. The video is shared with a caption suggesting that it shows a Muslim man being arrested in Vrindavan for sexually assaulting a minor. The post further claims that he committed the crime in Dholpur, Rajasthan, under the pretext of offering her a job.

A social media user shared the video and wrote, “Muslim man in hijab accused of rape in Vrindavan has been arrested. The victim was a minor in Dholpur, Rajasthan, who he pretended to provide a job.” (Roughly translated from Hindi)

SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The man seen getting arrested in the video is not a Muslim, and there is no communal angle to the supposed crime.

We found that the viral video had the logo of Times Now Navbharat. So, we checked the channel’s social media handles and found the same video shared on their Facebook page on December 31, 2025.

The post suggested that police had arrested a criminal in Vrindavan who was accused of assaulting a minor girl in Dholpur, Rajasthan, under the pretext of offering her a job. However, the post did not mention the identity or religion of the accused.

We further did a Google reverse image search and found that the screenshot of the video was shared by Aaj Tak on December 30, 2025.

According to the video, a former RAC jawan, Rajendra Sisodia, was arrested in Vrindavan on December 30 for raping a 16-year-old minor in Dholpur. He was evading arrest by disguising himself in a burqa and lipstick.

NDTV also reported on the incident.

According to the report, Rambharose alias Rajendra Sisodia, allegedly raped a 16-year-old on December 15. Later, the police arrested the accused in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. The man was wearing a burqa and lipstick to pose as a woman at the time of his arrest.

We have contacted the police regarding their version and the article will be updated as soon as they respond. However, going by the reports we found, the accused is not a Muslim.
