On February 16–17, 2026, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Admiral Samuel J. Paparo Jr., Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, visited the Indian Army’s Western Command headquarters in Chandimandir, Haryana. They were briefed on operational preparedness, the Command’s history, and future cooperation prospects, highlighting strengthening India–US defence engagement.
In this context, a video of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh dancing and playing Holi colours is being shared on social media. The caption suggests that he was attending a private function while the US Ambassador was in India.
A social media user shared the video with the caption: “U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor is visiting Western Command of the Indian Army. Meanwhile our Defence Minister is busy dancing in private function of Fraud Sadhguru.”
SouthCheck found the claim to be false. The viral video is old.
A Google Reverse Image Search led us to the same video shared by Rajnath Singh on his official X account on March 8, 2023. The caption read, “Delighted to host the United States Secretary of Commerce, Ms. Gina Raimondo on the auspicious occasion of Holi at my official residence.”
We also found that The Free Press Journal reported on the event. According to the report, on March 8, 2023, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo joined Holi celebrations at Rajnath Singh’s residence in New Delhi. She was seen dancing to music and playing drums with guests, including Indian ministers.
JanSatta also reported on the matter. The report stated that Gina Raimondo, then US Secretary of Commerce, was a special guest at Rajnath Singh’s Holi celebration in New Delhi on March 8, 2023. She visited India at the invitation of Union Minister Piyush Goyal for a commercial dialogue and CEO forum. She participated in the celebration and spoke about the warm India–US relationship.
Hence, we ascertain that the viral video is old and unrelated to the recent visit of the US Ambassador.
