A video is being widely shared on social media in which many arms, ammunitions and cash are being seized by men in uniform. The video is circulated with a caption suggesting that the seizures occurred at one of Manipur’s mosques, where Muslims were intending to use them for killing Hindus.
A social media user shared the video with a caption that reads, “Exposed: The plot to kill Hindus and ruin them. Large quantities of weapons and money were recovered from mosques.”
SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The viral video from Myanmar.
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by a Facebook page on April 24, 2025, with a caption that, when translated into English, reads, “After capturing Falam Khua Sung Hmun Khuar (268), the CB group and its allied forces seized weapons and cash from them following the attack.”
In the video, at around 35 seconds, we also observed the BNRA (Burma National Revolution Army) insignia displayed on the uniform of a man visible in the viral video.
Using this information, we searched with relevant keywords and found that the same video was shared by a YouTube channel ‘Myanmar Now News’ on April 10, 2025.
The video was shared with a caption that reads, “Revolutionary forces capture Falam, the second capital of Chin State.” In the video, at around the 3:15 timestamp, we can see the same picture as seen in the viral video. We can see the same missiles in the front, the rocket launcher on the right side, and many similar arms.
All of these suggest that the viral video is from Myanmar and not Manipur.
Therefore, the claim is false.
