An image of a long roadway bridge among hills has gone viral with the claim that it is from Jammu and Kashmir.

A social media user shared the image with the caption, “Jammu National Highway. Incredible India. Credits - Vikrant Aggarwal.”

SouthCheck found that the claim was false. The image shows the Yeongdong Hongseong Bridge in South Korea.

On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same image was shared earlier with the claim that it was from Nepal and Pakistan.

However, with a further deep dive, we found the image uploaded by a website, Panoramio, on August 1, 2007. The description associated with the image stated that the location of the bridge is Daemiwon-ro, Ucheon-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea.

However, Google shut Panoromia, a geo-located tagging and photo-sharing website, in 2016.

The Panoromia also mentioned a geolocation. On searching with the coordinates, we found the same bridge crossing through the hills.

We found the image on a website selling postal stamps called Woojung 365. 

Therefore, we can conclude that the viral image is of South Korea, not Jammu and Kashmir.
