SouthCheck found that the claim is false. The video is from 2025 and is of Israel carrying out airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.
On a Google reverse image search, we found that the same video was shared by a Facebook page on August 24, 2025. The video is shared with a caption that reads, “Breaking: The Yemeni capital Sanaa is being subjected to heavy bombardment by Israel.”
Taking a hint, we found that a similar image was shared by a news website on August 24, 2025. We compared the viral video with the screenshot of the news website and found them to be of the same region. We found that the same minaret is visible in both the videos, and, we can see the same building in the background.
We found another video of the same incident shared by the New York Post on August 25, 2025, with a caption that reads, “Israeli airstrikes rain down on Yemen’s capital killing at least 2.”
We found that the incident was also reported by Al Jazeera on August 25, 2025.
According to the report, Israel carried out airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, targeting Houthi-linked sites after the group launched attacks on Israel. The strikes hit key infrastructure and military positions, causing casualties and damage in the city. The escalation highlights growing regional tensions, with Yemen becoming another front as Israel responds to cross-border missile and drone attacks.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is false.
