Two videos are being shared on social media in which a person is seen rashly driving an SUV car in front of a gurdwara.

The videos are shared with the claim that a terrorist attack happened in Gurdwara Seesganj Sahib in New Delhi.

A social media user shared the videos with the caption, “Terror attack outside Gurdwara Seesganj Sahib, New Delhi. Allegedly one ‘H’ extremist ran over his SUV over numerous Sikh men, women & children.”

SouthCheck found that the claim is false.

On doing a Google reverse image search, we found the same video uploaded on YouTube on April 10, 2024. The caption associated with the video suggests that the incident took place in the market of Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala.PTC News had also reported the incident. The caption when translated in English reads, “Patiala Gurudwara outside Dukh Nivaran Sahib, the shopkeeper drove the car on the Sangat.”

Taking a hint, we searched with appropriate keywords and found that The Times of India had also reported about the incident on April 11, 2024. The report suggests that people shot a video of an SGPC sewadar who attempted to crush a rival shopkeeper at Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib’s market complex. The sewadar was seen driving his jeep in a manner that appeared to endanger bystanders.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is neither a terrorist attack nor from Delhi.
