An image of a road surrounded by a serene forest has gone viral on social media. The image is being shared with a caption suggesting that the viral image is of a road in Adilabad district, Telangana.
A social media user shared the image with a caption that reads, “Beauty of nature, Adilabad, Telangana.”
SouthCheck found that the claim was false. The viral image shows a road on Kangaroo Island in Australia.
On doing a Google reverse image search, we found the same image uploaded on Flickr. The caption associated with the image read, “Amazing road on Kangaroo Island on the way to Remarkable Rocks.”
We found the same image uploaded on Alamy with the caption, “Australia, South Australia, Kangaroo Island, road in the bush.” According to a website, Kangaroo Island is the third-largest island in Australia. Although less than 100 miles long, Kangaroo Island still has around 1,000 miles of roads.
We found the same image uploaded on Getty Images, also stating that the viral image shows a ‘Long Winding Road on Kangaroo Island’.
